We had a wonderful experience with Riad Azwaw. From the moment we arrived we received such a warm welcome and felt completely at home. Ahmed was an exceptional host and prepared a truly spectacular dinner — one of the highlights of our visit. The evening didn’t end there; the entertainment afterwards made the whole experience even more special and memorable. A beautiful atmosphere, incredible hospitality, and an unforgettable night. Highly recommended!

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Riad Azawad direkt an einer großen Düne. Man konnte vom Hotel aus sehr einfach dort hinlaufen. Das Zimmer war groß und gemütlich. Hassan hat uns herzlich mit Tee und Nüssen empfangen und während der ganzen Zeit betreut. Das Zimmer war groß und gemütlich. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Wir haben eine Nacht im Hotel verbracht und die zweite Nacht im Azawad Wüstencamp. Man konnte alles kinderleicht im Hotel zu einem fairen Preis buchen ohne versteckte Kosten wie bei anderen Camp Anbietern. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können das Hotel empfehlen.

L’allotjament és molt bonic i a les portes del desert per sortir cap al desert de Merzouga. El personl súper amable. Parla castellà. Tot i que vam arribar molt tard, ens va preparar sopar.

Comfortable and nice Riad that worth to spent a night or two when you are at Merzuoga

Comfy Riad at Merzuoga, spacious room with all basic necessity. The staff even offered extra portion of breakfast for our big eater children.

Cat could come up to guest room level. It might be a norm at Morocco but it almost run into our room with i think this should not happened.

酒店其实超过了我的想象，这个价格，在沙漠，性价比很高了，房价很大，卫生也做到了标准。而且我觉得 这家酒店的床很舒适，就是软硬刚刚好的那种，因为不管你是从哪里出发去到沙漠，都一定是一个很漫长的旅程，舒适的床真的对后面的活动有很大的帮助(^-^)👍。酒店的晚餐也做的很好吃，每天都是不一样的摩洛哥传统菜肴

就是早餐的时候，餐厅里苍蝇太多了，当然好像整个摩洛哥都是这样的，可能因为气候的原因吧，还是建议酒店可以增加一些措施让来减少苍蝇

Beautiful hotel by the dunes

Beautiful hotel adjacent to the dunes which was exactly what I wanted. I wasn’t interested in the camel rides or 4 wheels in the desert however you can do it from here if you choose. The pool was very inviting but super cold. The decor was lovely and my room was spacious and modern. The bed was a rock, which is typical in Morocco. I would have liked black out curtains as I could see the outside lights from the streets. Shower was modern but no door or curtain so water kinda went everywhere. The wifi had some issues and I think the staff accidentally turned off my airplane mode thinking that was why I wasn’t getting reception. Instead, I was charged by my local carrier for a day pass. Dinner was outside near the pool, communal and fortunately they offered pasta which was a welcome change from local cuisine. I wish I’d had more time to enjoy the pool and the lovely lounge seating. Brekkie was typical Moroccan, heavy carbs but they offered eggs. A lot of flies all over the food tho. Not sure how to combat that one. Lovely place worth checking out

Please avoid this hotel

Location is great but you really can’t go wrong in Merzouga. Rooms are spacious and reasonably comfortable.

Staff was horrendous… Rude not interested and not cooperative to essentially rip us off for 300 dirham.

Great place to stay in the desert

Great view of the dunes from the pool in the back, and if you enjoy bikes and offroad vehicles it is close to the main road (but not noisy or bothersome) that you can see them riding in the desert. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly and it gives you an authentic aesthetics while being new. The dinner and breakfast are also great.

Ce très bel hôtel donne une vue magnifique sur la dune, même si vous n'êtes pas au pied. La piscine et les abords sont très agréables pour se reposer. Le personnel est charmant et les repas délicieux (soir et petit-déjeuner)

Good value for money

Very well maintained and clean hotel. Nice pool and courtyard to relax after a day out in the desert. Room and bathroom were spacious and clean too. Staff was very helpful and accommodating across our stay. Dinner was extra $ but it was worth it and convenient. We did 1 night out in the desert camps and 1 night in the hotel and though it was a perfect combination.

An extra mirror in the bedroom apart from the one in bathroom would be helpful.

Très beau riad dans un beau jardin avec piscine. Le petit-déjeuner excellent, le dîné est bien, les chambres sont spacieuses.

Le personnel ne parle pas Français, donc l'accueil n'est pas terrible.,un soir nous avons eu une tajine brûlée,,c'était quand même très moyen. Poulet,poulet et encore poulet..

I had a wonderful experience here! From start to finish, the service was exceptional — the staff were warm, attentive, and truly made me feel at home. The food was fantastic, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. Every dish was fresh and perfectly prepared. The setting couldn’t be more stunning — just a short stroll from the dune, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful, relaxing vibe. The pool area was immaculate, ideal for a refreshing dip or simply soaking up the sun. Being able to order lunch and drinks right by the pool made everything even more enjoyable and convenient. This place really has it all — delicious food, outstanding service, a gorgeous location, and excellent amenities. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable and relaxing getaway!

Stunning riad at the edge of the desert

We booked 2 nights in the riad and 2 nights in the luxury desert camp, and we’re so happy we did. The riad was the perfect base before heading into the dunes, but honestly, it’s an experience in itself. What surprised us most was the view, you can actually see the dunes right from the riad, which made it feel absolutely incredible. The property itself is stunning, with so much attention to detail, and the atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. A big thank you to the whole team for making our stay fantastic. We especially recommend having dinner in the garden at sunset, it was such a beautiful experience.

Amazing!

We stayed at Azawad for 2 nights in the riad and 2 nights at their Sahara desert camp, and the whole experience was just amazing. The riad overlooks the Sahara dunes, which makes for such a beautiful view and a relaxing place to arrive before heading into the desert. There’s parking, a pool, and a restaurant that serves delicious food with vegetarian options. Heading into the desert by quad was probably my favorite part, driving through the dunes at sunset felt magical, and we even stopped for sandboarding which was so much fun. When we arrived at the camp, we were welcomed with tea and shown to our tent, which was stunning and very comfortable, complete with a private toilet, shower, and AC. After dinner, the Moroccan music around the campfire added so much to the atmosphere. And yes, even in the middle of the desert, there’s WiFi! A visit to the Sahara is a must when traveling in Morocco, and Azawad made it the perfect experience from start to finish. Highly recommend doing the full package with both the riad and the desert camp!

Struttura molto bella con ampio giardino con piscina per rinfrescarsi. Le stanze sono molto grandi e ben arredate con frigobar. Il bagno grandissimo dotato di tutto. Lo staff molto gentile ci ha permesso di restare in hotel oltre orario in attesa del tour nel deserto.

Un magnifique séjour que je referais et je recommanderais cet hôtel !

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cet hôtel, très bien situé avec une vue incroyable ! Un personnel à l’écoute et gentil. De très grandes chambres climatisé et une magnifique terrasse à l’étage avec vue sur les dunes. Une très belle piscine (quoi que un peu petite si il y’a beaucoup de monde à l’hôtel) et un jardin magnifique et très bien entretenu.

La salle de bain a revoir un peu, elle était bien mais notre pommeau de douche était un peu cassé mais rien de grave. Tout était parfait à part le fait que le premier jour nous avons vu un cafard dans notre salle bain, mais plus de trace de carfard après !

Notre séjour dans cet hôtel a été tout simplement exceptionnel. L’emplacement est parfait : facile d’accès et offrant une vue imprenable sur les magnifiques dunes de sable. Le cadre est calme et reposant, idéal pour se détendre en pleine nature. Nous avons eu la chance de faire un bain de sable à proximité de l’hôtel, une expérience inoubliable et très bénéfique. Great location right in front of the dunes and at the same time right off the main road, so there is no need to drive unpaved roads. Room was big, nicely decorated and quiet.

Not the best, but just meets the requirement. Overpriced for kind of room facility and service level

Well, I had stayed in many Riad's in Morocco. This property is located very close to the dunes as you can just walk. Rooms are Ok, but no kettle or water glasses are kept and you may need to ask and collect it yourself from the reception. Due to huge inflow of tourists in Merzouga and this place, I guess the service levels are just very normal like any other commercial hotel and you will not feel any special welcome or warmth of Riads. In Breakfast, the person serving will give you feeling that whatever is kept for you in the table should be sufficient (in clear body language) and you may hesitate to even ask for omlette.

Rooms are basic with no facilities for heating water, no kettle, no glass. Also no one bothers to bring to your room, you need to go and get on your own. Service levels are so so probably as many guests visit this place and the staff is not so much bothered. Also in breakfast, you will find bit resistance if you ask for bit more. Price of this hotel for what i see in the room and service levels, I would say is bit over priced.

Best place in Mersouga

Simply the best, Youssef took care of everything and my kids had the time of their life. We stayed at the hotel and and the camp. Tranfers, meals and activities, camel rides, local music and excellent food. Higly recommended for families, couples and people looking to experience a great time.

Perfect place to stay before heading into the desert

We arrived at 2AM at this hotel due to our travel from the Errachidia airport to Merzouga and they allowed us to check-in and get some rest, and manage the administrative stuff in the morning. The room is spacious, and has the perfect view of the Sahara dunes + air-conditioning when it got really hot. We loved the place so much that we decided to extend 1 more day so we can return to the same room after our glamping experience. Youssef was incredible in arranging all the items we wanted to be done (camel ride, 4x4, glamping arrangements) including our transport back to Marrakech. Hassan was really great in serving the breakfast and last minute lunch arrangements we made in the hotel. Thank you for the wonderful stay.

The best experience ever. I recommend this place, healthy food, the camp was so clean, 🔥, the camels experience in the middle of the duns was unbelievable. An AMAZING desert stay.

Our group of ten was greeted with friendly smiles and tea. Check in was easy and staff was eager to get us settled into our rooms prior to dinner. Dinner was plentiful and delicious. Assou provided amazing and friendly service and entertainment to our group including drums, singing, and dance. The property is beautiful with impeccably kept grounds and beautiful mosaic tiles and decor. The rooftop is great for sunrise and sunset. Thank you Assou and staff for an amazing stay and experience.

Amazing Riad. We had a beautiful room in front of the dunes. Very comfortable and clean. Big bathroom. Lovely outside area with sitting place and nice pool. Delicious breakfast. You can walk to the dunes from the backyard. The staff was very friendly.

Great facilities and friendly staff. Good food. Well suited to make day trips to the desert or just spend a relaxed day.

Staff at the front desk seemed a bit lost. He confirmed vegetarian Tagine for dinner and preparation of a breakfast bag to-go. Both did not happen; dinner was chicken (was ok for us but would kill the mood for any vegetarian) and breakfast to-go was not prepared.

Beautiful hotel in the desert

We arrived here after a night in the desert and were delighted with the hotel. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was lovely - beautiful decor, lovely colours and in it’s own block by the pool. Shower was hot and effective. The room was large with seating and room to hang clothes. We only had soup for dinner as still full from the Berber pizza (a must have, delicious, at a restaurant up the road Cafe Restaurant Ytto, Khamlia ), but the soup was delicious. Breakfast was bread, pancakes, jams, omelette, all lovely. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend.

Great stopover hotel ….

Quick stopover after night in the desert. Big rooms and lovely swimming pool - although because of the dust storms it was closed. Very tidy and clean and host, Asul, was absolutely charming. Very quiet out of season - serves to cater for the desert experiences rather than a hotel to stay in, as nothing in the local area. Part of the growth support town around the desert activities.

Memorable and magical

Everything was top notch, enjoyed the stay fully to the maximum.. loved the team behind this beautiful riad. I can't express my satisfaction enough, loved the staff, they treat you like family which makes it magical at any moment. I was also amazed how clean it was, how good the breakfast was. Basically, this is one of the best and most beautiful places i've stayed in. When i come back.. i'll come back to this memorable riad with a stunning view.

Good place to stay for visiting the Dunes

Very impressive lookout to the dunes in the desert. Nice pool area. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Nice trips - camel ride with sun rise and dinner in the desert with SUV.

The room we booked didn't exist any more. So they put us first in a smaller room. After some conversation they put us in 2 rooms next to each other what was correct. So good solution in the end.

Excellent position, Erg Chebbi dunes just outside the back gate, 15 mins easy walk into Merzouga. Wonderful staff, great 3 course dinner, needed to book, excellent breakfast served to us on the terrace, early because we had a long drive back to Marrakesh. Be aware hotel only takes cash.

Great location and nice facilities, let down by hospitality.

Location was amazing, could walk out the back gate straight into the dunes and explore. The facilities were clean, tidy, and very comfortable.

Felt unwelcome as a family with young children. Amenities were not readily available, e.g. pool was closed, required the support of several guests to open it. Plus, was told the on-site restaurant opened at 8pm, then arrived at 8pm only to be told that we needed to make a reservation and so had to leave.

Very nice stay

We stayed here as a family of four for just one night. Views of the Sahara are very nice and the staff were extremely friendly and chatty. The room was probably the best we had stayed on whilst in Morocco and the shower was very warm and had excellent pressure. Ideal for a one night stay. We only ate breakfast here so cannot comment on evening meal, this was offered for €20 per person but we decided to walk out and eat elsewhere just for a leg stretch of nothing more. Pool was chilly but this was welcome as it can get really hot here! Nice night.
